In Ontario, registered social workers, registered psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists can offer psychotherapy in a regulated environment. Social workers can be certified to deliver a wide array of evidence-based protocols and modalities. In fact, social workers provide the majority of counselling and psychotherapy services in the province of Ontario and are licensed by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Our fees are currently set at $185.00 for each 50 min session based on the market standard and level of experience. Josée is a Masters level trained, bilingual social worker with over 22 years of clinical experience in the field. In addition to her education and experience, Josée has invested significant resources in training in a number of different modalities. She regularly keeps her skills current through ongoing skills development and professional development and is fully committed to bringing you the most professional and up-to-date services possible.
Fees for private social work psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP. However, most private insurance plans cover at least some of the fees for the services provided by social workers and psychotherapists. The amount of coverage available may vary from one insurance policy to another. If you have an insurance plan (through your employer or otherwise), we suggest that you review your policy with your insurance company to find out how much coverage is available for social work psychotherapy services.
At the present time, we are only accepting Interac e-transfers. Payment is required at the time of the appointment. For those with insurance coverage, payment is due at the time of the appointment and a receipt will be provided for you to submit to your insurance provider.
We ask that you give us 48 hours notice if you must cancel an appointment. Things happen – and we understand that. However, cancellations made without 48 hours notice and no-shows will be subject to the full session fee prior to rescheduling.
Virtual therapy, or teletherapy, has gained a lot of momentum in the therapy world, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic. The use of virtual therapy has increased accessibility and allowed for secure, more convenient appointments all from the comfort of your home. We use a secure platform to deliver virtual therapy that requires nothing more than a stable internet connection and access to a mobile device, tablet or laptop.
We recommend you treat your appointment as you would any ‘in person’ appointment, but that you also enjoy the comfort of your own home. Most importantly, you will need to find a space that is quiet, private and distraction free.
